- Patient Personal care
A certified nurse assistant must possess all the skills related to patient care. They must ensure that their patient gets good hygiene and a clean environment. Personal care of a patient includes the following
- Bathing of a patient, which includes tub bath, bed bath, normal showers, partial bath
- Oral care for patients
- Assisting them with the proper care depending upon the male or female perennial care, shaving, waxing, nail cuttings, hair cuttings, changing clothes, and all the activities which require personal care
- Providing special support to the patients having diseases like diabetes, or any other disease which requires constant care
- Monitoring Blood pressures
- Collecting specimens as and when needed

Infection control is one of the main tasks which the nurse assistants have to perform. It involves basic knowledge related to the prevention of infection and avoiding contamination, which is very important and helpful in preventing contagious diseases from spreading all over the health care facility. - Communication and Behavior:
Nurse assistants must possess good communication skills which include speaking skills or learning skills. As many tasks require interaction with the patients, patients’ families, or any other healthcare professionals. Being a nursing assistant, have to deal with a different types of individuals from different cultures, so you must know how to communicate and understand their needs. Record keeping also includes noticing, recording, and writing things like the treatment your patient has received from the hospital, the date and time when the patient receive the service, and the date and time on which they completed the service. This will help the management in finding information correctly.

Working as a nurse assistant requires proper knowledge related to infections, conditions, and general terms used by medical professionals. This kill will help you to keep your hospital environment safe from infections or viral issues.
- Understanding of Common Disorders
