What is a Healthcare assistant?
Healthcare Assistants normally work within a range of NHS hospital or community settings under the guidance of healthcare professionals. The nature of this role varies depending upon the area of work. A Healthcare assistant could be working with nurses in a hospital or midwives in a maternity service. Healthcare assistant’s main work is to help healthcare professionals to care for the patients. They may work in a hospital environment alongside nurses and doctors or also in the home of a patient.

To become a Health Assistant a person needs to have qualified senior secondary (12th) with Science (Biology) stream. In addition to this the person must have completed a Certificate Course in Multi Purpose Health Assistant Training Course.
Salary Structure of Health Assistant
For the post of Health Assistant in a government organization, a salary is given according to the Pay Matrix that varies from Rs. 18,400 to 55,410/- of the Seventh Pay Commission. In private organization, the salary varies around 3-4 lakh per annum.
